EXPANDING ESPORTS IN FURTHER EDUCATION
BOLTON COLLEGE
How Yoyotech added a second esports classroom at Bolton College and brought both rooms under one fully managed ggCircuit service.
GROWTH AND CONTROL
THE VISION
Bolton College already ran an esports classroom, but keeping it ready for students was taking up far too much staff time. Game updates, login issues and routine administration all landed on the teaching and IT teams, which made the room difficult to keep in regular use.
When the college decided to expand its provision with a second classroom, it wanted both rooms to be easier to run as the department grew. Yoyotech supplied the equipment for the new space along with a fully managed ggCircuit service that brings both classrooms under one coordinated system.
THE SOLUTION
2 ROOMS. 1 ENVIRONMENT.
We fitted out the new classroom with 21 Yoyotech PCs, chairs, monitors and peripherals, giving the college a complete set of ready-to-use workstations for its growing esports provision.
The existing room ran on different hardware, so the management service had to work across both. Bolton College sent a couple of its existing PCs to our technical team, who configured the server around those systems and the new Yoyotech machines together. This meant the college could keep its original equipment and still run everything from one central setup.
Working with Yoyotech has made a real difference to the delivery of esports at Bolton College. Having access to high-end, esports-ready PCs means our learners are working with equipment that reflects the standards and demands of the industry, allowing us to deliver practical sessions with confidence. Just as importantly, the fully managed service provided by Yoyotech gives us the reassurance that our equipment is supported and maintained, allowing us to focus on what matters most: teaching, learning and giving our students the best possible esports experience. The combination of high-quality equipment and ongoing support has been invaluable to the continued development of our esports department.

THE MANAGEMENT
MORE TIME FOR TEACHING
An esports classroom needs more than capable PCs. Games have to stay updated, access has to be managed and every station has to be ready when students walk in, and without the right tools that work falls on staff.
For Bolton College, the ggCircuit fully managed service was the most important part of the project. It took on the tasks that had made the original room so hard to run, and both classrooms now operate smoothly, so staff can spend more of their time teaching and supporting students.
THE BUILD
COMPLETE AND CONNECTED
Alongside the 21 new Yoyotech PCs, the completed installation features:
COMPLETE WORKSTATIONS
Chairs, monitors and peripherals supplied with every PC to create ready-to-use student stations.
GGCIRCUIT FULLY MANAGED SERVICE
Central management of game updates, logins and day-to-day administration across both classrooms.
MIXED-HARDWARE CONFIGURATION
A custom hanging hexagonal LED lighting system, creating a striking ceiling feature.
THE IMPACT
EXPANDED PROVISION
Bolton College now runs two well-managed esports classrooms, combining its original equipment with 21 new Yoyotech workstations. The project added capacity and made both rooms far simpler to run day to day, giving students a more dependable experience every time they sit down to play or learn.
With only a few weeks to go before the start of term, our team supplied, configured and handed over a solution that works across two different hardware setups. It reflects the turnkey approach we bring to every project, where we get to grips with the practical problems a college faces and make the whole environment work together.
Yoyotech demonstrated exceptional expertise throughout the project. Their support team was consistently responsive and helpful, and the equipment provided was of a high standard and performed reliably without any issues. I would particularly commend their dedication to ensuring the solution was delivered and operational within a challenging timeframe.
